Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Tour 2 Days
Your day begins at 7:30 am when your private guide meets you at your hotel for a journey into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Enjoy a scenic drive with a stop at the Mirador of Taray, capturing panoramic views of the Urubamba Valley. Explore the Pisac Archaeological Site, home to over 2,000 tombs, intricate terraces, and sacred Inca tunnels, before wandering through the vibrant Pisac Market, the largest in the region.
After lunch in Urubamba, visit Moray, the ancient agricultural laboratory with circular terraces built to study crop cultivation at varying microclimates. Continue to Maras and descend to the pre-Inca Salt Mines, featuring over 3,000 working salt ponds. End the day at the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo, exploring its ruins before boarding the 7 pm train to Aguas Calientes.

Today is all about Machu Picchu, the iconic lost city of the Incas. After breakfast, we’ll take a short bus ride up to the citadel (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), arriving early to enjoy the site with fewer crowds. Your guide will take you on a 2-hour tour, exploring the Room of the Three Windows, Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and Main Plaza, sharing fascinating stories of Inca history, culture, and architecture.
For those looking for more adventure, an optional Huayna Picchu hike can be added during booking.
After the visit, we’ll board the scenic train back to Ollantaytambo, passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley, before a private transfer returns you to Cusco.

We will pick you up from the Cusco airport and take you to your hotel in Cusco. Please let us know your flight details at least 14 days before arrival. Our representative will be holding an APPLE sign reading APPLE Travel outside the arrivals. You must exit the terminal to find our representative as they cannot enter. (Please let us know if your hotel is in the Sacred Valley so we can make the necessary arrangements).
The Briefing will be the night before the trek at 6 pm in our office which is located at Calle Garcilaso 2010 Office 2012.
ABSOLUTELY! During the Machu Picchu Tour, your main luggage can be kept in our office or stored at your hotel, both are free.
FIRST, to book your Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu Tour, we need you to fill out our booking form by clicking on BOOK NOW on our homepage.
We will need the following information (FROM EACH PARTICIPANT in your group). This information is necessary to purchase the entrance tickets to Machu Picchu the train tickets:
SECOND, to purchase your Inca Trail permit, entrance to Machu Picchu, and train ticket, a deposit of US$211.00 per person is necessary. There are several options to make your deposit. You can click on the VISA or PAYPAL symbols at the top of our home page, on our booking page, or simply click on the payment method of your choice, either VISA or PAYPAL.
As for the balance, you can pay in cash at our office in Cusco (in US dollars or Peruvian soles) to avoid high credit card fees in Peru. There are many ATMs located within the historical center that you can use to withdraw money. Alternatively, you can also pay online through VISA or PAYPAL, but please note that there is a 5.5% service fee charged by VISA and PAYPAL. To pay your balance through PAYPAL, you simply need to log into your PAYPAL account and use our email address, which is appletravelperu@gmail.com.
Yes, but with some restrictions. It is important to note that once you have purchased Machu Picchu tickets, the government does not allow for any changes to the departure date. Additionally, the tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Therefore, if you choose to cancel your Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Trek, the deposit you have made is non-refundable. It is important to consider these policies before making your purchase to avoid any unexpected circumstances.
To enter Machu Picchu and board the train, you must bring your original passport with you. It is crucial that the passport number you sent us while booking your entrance, train tickets, and reservations is the same as that on your passport. The rangers and the train company will check your passport before allowing you to enter Machu Picchu or board the train.
In case you renew your passport or change your name, please send us your old passport information to secure your permit, and we can change it for a fee of $25 per person when you get your new passport number or updated name. To make the change, we require copies of both your old and new passports. We recommend that you keep a copy of your old passport before changing it.
Alternatively, you can avoid the fee by bringing both passports to Peru with you. You can use your new passport to enter Peru, but you must show both passports (old and new) to enter Machu Picchu or board the train. If you fail to produce both passports, you will not be allowed to enter Machu Picchu or board the train. Please note that officials in Peru are strict about this matter.
Please be aware that it is essential to check the expiration date of your passport before traveling to Peru. The Peruvian government enforces a law that requires all foreign travelers to hold a valid passport for at least six months beyond the date of their entry into Peru. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in denial of entry into the country. Therefore, it is recommended that you check your passport validity well in advance of your planned travel dates to ensure that you have ample time to renew your passport if necessary.
Due to the unpredictable and constantly changing weather conditions in the Andes Mountains, it is difficult to provide a precise forecast. We recommend that you come prepared for a range of conditions, including warm temperatures, the possibility of rain showers (rain ponchos will be provided by Apple Travel Peru), and colder weather. It is advisable to dress in layers so that you can adjust your clothing based on the changing weather conditions throughout the day. Additionally, we suggest that you bring a warm jacket to ensure that you stay comfortable, particularly during colder periods.
OF COURSE! We will drop you off at your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley when we return from the tour. We will also pick you up from the Sacred Valley if you are staying there.
