Day 1: Arrival in the “White City” of Arequipa
Upon arrival, an Apple Travel Peru representative will transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we explore Arequipa’s colonial elegance, including the Main Square and the stunning Santa Catalina Monastery. We conclude with sunset views of the Misti and Chachani volcanoes from the Yanahuara viewpoint.

Day 2: Into the Colca Canyon
We head toward Chivay, passing through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve where wild vicuñas roam. After an afternoon at the canyon viewpoints, we find rejuvenation in the La Calera hot springs.

Day 3: The Condor’s Flight – Puno
Early morning at Cruz del Cóndor to watch the world’s largest flying birds catch the thermals. We then begin the scenic drive toward Puno, stopping at Patapampa (4,910m), the highest point of the journey.

Day 4: Lake Titicaca – Uros & Taquile
A full day on the water. We visit the Uros floating islands—built entirely of totora reeds—and continue to Taquile Island, famous for its world-class knitters. Tonight, we stay with a host family for an authentic cultural exchange.

Day 5: The Sun Route to Cusco
We travel the scenic “Ruta del Sol” toward Cusco. Key stops include the La Raya Pass, the towering Inca temple of Raqchi, and the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” in Andahuaylillas.

Day 6: Cusco – The Imperial Heart
An afternoon guided tour of Cusco’s blend of Inca and Spanish heritage. We visit the Qorikancha (Sun Temple) and the massive archaeological sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q’enqo, and Tambomachay.

Day 7: The Sacred Valley & Ollantaytambo
We descend into the Sacred Valley to explore the Pisac market and its mountain-top ruins. In the afternoon, we explore the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo and its formidable fortress.

Day 8: Machu Picchu – The Lost City
A scenic morning train ride takes us to Aguas Calientes, followed by a 2-hour guided exploration of the Machu Picchu citadel. We return to Cusco by train in the evening.

Day 9: Departure
After a final Andean breakfast, we provide a private transfer to the Cusco airport for your flight out.

- Footwear: Sturdy, broken-in hiking boots are essential for the uneven stone paths of the ruins.

Is the homestay comfortable?
The homestay on Lake Titicaca is an authentic, rustic experience. While facilities are basic, the hospitality is world-class, providing a unique insight into the Quechua way of life that a hotel cannot offer.
How does Apple Travel Peru handle altitude?
Our route is designed for gradual acclimatization, moving from Arequipa (2,300m) to Puno (3,800m) and finally Cusco (3,400m). We provide oxygen on our transport and our guides are experts in managing altitude symptoms.
What is the cancellation policy?
Notice must be sent in writing to Apple Travel Peru. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations 15+ days prior result in a 50% deposit forfeiture. Between 7-15 days, a 50% refund is possible. Within 48 hours, no refunds are granted.
